I didn’t get to stay long in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand, but I did get to explore Asiatique The Riverfront, which is a large open-air mall. It occupies the former docks of the East Asiatic Company, and faces the Chao Phraya River and Charoen Krung Road. When we got there, my mom was shocked to see such a drastic change to the place because when she was younger, she would pass this market often when she was going to school, but it used to be the Denmark-based East Asiatic Company that was founded in 1897. Asiatique is now hip and modern and holds different stores and restaurants. It also has an amusement park where kids and adults can enjoy the fun of different rides and games at the park. There’s also live music being played by contemporary pop bands and adults can enjoy drinking inside different types of pubs.
