Witnessing the Niagara Falls

Because I was in Toronto, I made sure that I had time to see Canada’s famous waterfalls, The Niagara Falls which was linked with the U.S. by the Rainbow Bridge. Steve drove from Toronto to Clifton Hills, where the Niagara Falls was located, for just about an hour and a half. You can also take the bus from the city which will get you to the waterfalls in about two hours. We purchased a boat tour at the site, which costed about $26 CAD per person. The boat tour lasted for around 20-30 mins and we were all given bright red rain jackets to protect ourselves from the heavy mist of the waterfalls. At first I didn’t understand why we needed the jacket; it was only until we hit the second waterfall, which was also the biggest one, I was drenched. The mist felt just like the rain, except slightly harder. Despite being wet, I braved through the mist the entire tour to take photos, while everyone ran downstairs of the boat and hid under covers. I also loved how exhilarating it felt and it was quite refreshing as well since it was a very hot day in Ontario.

Near the falls was Clifton Hill, which was the world’s famous street of fun. There were a lot of restaurants, casinos, pubs, museums and even arcades. We went on the Ferris Wheel and got a gorgeous view of the city, including the Niagara Falls. At the end of the day, we enjoyed a couple of drinks and snacks at Niagara Brewing Company, a nearby pub.
