Oxford, a city in central southern England, revolves around its prestigious university, established in the 12th century. The architecture of its 38 colleges in the city’s medieval center led poet Matthew Arnold to nickname it the ‘City of Dreaming Spires’. My buddies and I took Mega Bus from Coventry to Oxford for under £12 for a round trip ticket. Megas Bus is a great coach company that offers super cheap fares with comfortable seats and superb services. The coach journey from Coventry to Oxford took about an hour and a half. We did a day tour, so we arrived very early in the morning and took the coach back in the evening.
Aside from seeing Oxford University, we got to enjoy walking around the city and appreciate the architecture of every buildings. Modern is nice, but sometimes, history is classic.
